Only 5 minutes walk from Chelmsford High Street, The Riverside Inn is a beautifully and delicately restored 17th century mill, standing on the River Chelmer, we can assure you a warm welcome and a great choice of freshly cooked food & a great selection cask ales.

Our secluded garden is a lovely, calm area to enjoy the summer away from the bustle of the city overlooking the river. Our Riverside Summer BBQ is on every Saturday from 12pm to 6pm (weather permitting), so why not book a table in the garden and join us.

In the winter (and rainy summer days!), the pub is an inviting and cosy place where groups or couples can meet and enjoy secluded corners amongst the old mill fittings.

We have some great buffet menus, exclusive canape menus and can organise special Private Dining Menus to suit your taste. Give us a call, or pop in to speak to our New Head Chef, Christopher, who will talk you through what we have on offer. The Mill Room is also available to hire for meetings at very competitive rates.

With 5 welcoming bedrooms restored to combine the old with the new, we will offer you the warmest welcome in Essex. Rooms are available from £75 per night, including breakfast.

Ideally situated 5 minutes from Chelmsford town centre and train station, yet still only 30 minutes by train from London's Liverpool Street. Chelmsford also provides excellent links to the M25, M11 and A12.
